About the Book

What do you do when the person you love is drowning in addiction—and you're the one reaching for their hand?

Debra Batterson spent forty-two years loving family members through addiction. As a wife and a mother, she answered the phone at midnight, paid the bills, cleaned up the messes, and tried to hold everything together. She also lost—two husbands to addiction, and a grandson to fentanyl.

Then she opened a sober living home for women and began learning from the other side of the door.

What Would Their Sober Heart Say? is not a textbook. It is not a set of rules. It is one woman sitting across the table from you, telling you what she learned the hard way—about fear, enabling, boundaries, guilt, and the question that changed everything:

What would the person you love say if addiction weren't doing the talking?

This book is for anyone who keeps answering the phone.
